WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF STUDING ENGLISH IN AMERICA

English has become the most important language for business. If I can’t speak English, its means I will lose the opportunity to deal with other companies and then I will lose the chance to earn money. If I want to learn English well, I must study in the right environment. There are three advantages if I study English in America. First, I can learn real American pronunciation and more correct conversation. Second, I can know American culture. Third, I can learn about different culture from different countries, and understand the accent from any country.
First, if I want to learn correct English in speaking and listening, there are three advantages if I study in America. I can learn the correct pronunciation and the more authentic English speaking ability. In addition, there are so many opportunities to have a conversation with an American. At that moment, there are many chances to practice speaking and listening. If I speak English more fluently, it means I am already adapted to normal American conversation. And if I can understand about 95%~100% of this conversation, its maybe means I could do business without misunderstanding. Furthermore, there are many advantages of listening. For example, I can listen to the music on the radio and watch the news on TV which is only in English. It’s really helps me improve our listening ability so much.
Second, American culture plays an important role in my English learning process. Most people who will live in the home stay if they just arrived at America. And it’s a really nice beginning, because we don’t know anything about this place. I can learn the different working attitude and American family culture from home stay. And most of home parents have their own jobs so I can know many kinds jobs of features. I can talk about their jobs with them if they don’t mind. Even though I just only say “hello”, It’s a chance to speak English. About the food in America, no matter the menu, it uses only English words. So I have to understand the menu to order. About the education in America, initially, most of people learn English in the American Language Program in order to adapt to live in the new environment. And perhaps after one year or few years they will apply to a university to study. If I want to learn English well, I think the period of studying in school is the most important in our life. Since I have to go to school and stay there all day, I have to handle problems by ourselves. Even though after the class is dismissed, I usually have to discuss some problems for this class with the professor. At that moment, I have to try to speak out the problems clear and let the professor know. I believe that this helps us learn English well.
Third, there are many opportunities if we study English in America. First of all, when I study in ALP, I can know many people form different countries. I can learn the different cultures by having conversations with them. For example, the Japanese, Korean and Mexican have their own culture and thinking. And I will certainly learn some parts of their culture by the day by day conversation. Second, the people form different countries who had used to speak the mother tongue for a long time, and its must affect the pronunciation when English learning. In addition, I can learn the different attitude in solving problems. In the future we might be work with many countries people in the same company. The attitude may be a lot of different by their culture. So they certainly have different attitude in solving problems.
In conclusion, even though there are many advantages studying English in America, include American culture, opportunities and speaking. Most people only live in their country for whole life. If they want to improve their English ability which is always limited by the environment where they live in, then if they change the situation whose English ability must improve quickly.

Write about your plans for the rest of the summer.

It’s the end on Aug. second of ALP schedule. And then I will have a tip in New York where is a fantastic and crowed city. And there are many historical places where we can go, like Time Square, Ground Zero, the Central Park, New York Metropolitan Museum , Broadway, the Statue of Liberty, the Fifth Ave , Brooklyn Bridge and so on. They are so interesting indeed. If I have extra time, I’m going to visit Boston city if I could. And everything there are so amazing for me, so I’m look forward to tour there.

Write about your experience at the Angel game

We went to the baseball game last Sunday. it’s Angels vs. Tigers. And it’s my first time watching baseball game in united state. It’s so exciting and amazing. Because I never seen so huge and clean baseball field like this. I guess that there might be over forty thousands people went to watched the game in this field. You can see almost everyone wear a red T-shirt on that day. Because of every people like the same team “ Angels”. Even though Tigers is also a pretty good baseball team, but its not popular in California. It’s a very interesting situation. When the baseball has a nice play or hits, everyone hail for them. The circumstance is so bustling with noise and excitement. Finally, the Angels won the game, and I believe this result is everyone happy to see.

We are going to watch a movie on Thursday. After we watch the movie, write a summary desribing the main idea and some of the important details.

This movie named My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It’s talk about a Greek women and a American man who falls in love and love each other. But their family has totally different culture and conviction. The women’s name is Toula, and the man’s name is Ian Miller. Ian Miller in order to marry with Toula, he to be baptized to become a Greek. It’s let me know love each other is more important than anything even through from different culture, different country, different life style, and different thinking. Although Toula’s father don’t like Ian Miller, but he can figure out Toula’s feeling and he know Ian Miller really want to be a member in the big family. Finally, Ian Miller marries Toula and whose parents accept what a enthusiastic family. In the wedding, Toula’s parents give them a big gift “A house” near by theirs.

Today we talked about the three kinds of love (agape, phileo, eros). Write a paragraph explaining how these three kinds of love are diferent. What kind of relationship has which kind of love?

Agape is the love without recompense, just like the Jesus loves people but he don’t want any benefit. Phileo is the love between friends, teacher and student, between classmates, and so on. Eros is the love of sex, and it’s become more and more common. But in my opinion, it’s a very awful situation, because maybe after ten years people who really don’t know what the true love is. Only the fast love exist.

We are going to the beach this Friday. Wait until after our trip to write this journal. I went there with ALP members on Friday, July 13th. The weather really nice and the water were so suitable for swim. Actually, the beachscape is the best I ever seen before. But the sand is so hot that burn your feet if do not wear the slipper. Many people played the beach volleyball and soccer game. It’s really fun. And sunset there is so wonderful that I wish the time can be stopped. By the way, the houses which on the beach are so beautiful and i whish I can buy one in the future. And all guys really had a very nice holiday.

World Rally Campion ~ Loeb

Loeb is one of the drivers in WRC. There are many reasons why I look up to him.
First, he won many champions in different countries who has the best driving skill to overcome any terrible situation. Second, the most important is he never arrogant towards his fans and always friendly for them. Third, he had a awful accident in the competition and got an injury about four years ago that many people feel he can not drive anymore and looked him down. But he never gives up and he said: I won’t give up even I feel pain. At that moment, he cheers up right away and practiced the driving skill everyday. After one year with day by day practice and he won the champion of world again. Fourth, he became the best driver of WRC and wins the championship every year. And nobody look him down anymore. Finally, his spirit let me know “Never give up if we alive” which is useful for my life. To sum up, we should to treasure and cherish anytime that we have.

Do you think global warming is a serious threat to our enviroment? Write an academic paragraph with a good topic sentence and at least three supporting details.

First,the gas of global greenhouse, such as the carbon dioxide (CO2) , the methane (CH4) , oxidize inferior nitrogen (N2O) ,etc. a large amount of last the two poles glacier at top speed it melt! Make the sea level rise year by year. U.S.A. faces the greenhouse effects too now. Second, list the polar bear in the protection list of the endangered animal. Nowadays the ice sheet is melted rapidly, let polar bear be rare in place. The greenhouse effects are melted by the ice sheet, not only has deprived the living space of the polar bear but also let them be more difficult to catch seals; Even have a polar bear drowned in order to slip into the remote sea and hunt the food. Third,except polar bear's endangered crisis, the walrus is unable to escape a misfortune too. Because the Arctic ice sheet is melted fast, forced in the sea alikely and must give up children, seek survival alone. Though the mankind is still unable to experience the warm crisis of melting at once, but Arctic animal, is performing the unprecedented tragedy.
